March 23, 2010 BetDOS Offline. Site completely off as of late yesterday. The trouble started when players were not being paid on time months ago. Then several days ago, many players received strange messages that their accounts had been bought by a new company and to contact this new company. Regardless, we are downgrading the BETDOS name for the way this has all been handled. New Rating D-. And this is assuming they haven't just packed up shop and left.

 

March 22, 2010 HeroesCasino (Not Rated) Appears to be Shut Down. The story with this outfit is that they had a few dozen slow pays and new ownership was supposed to take over and "right the ship". We received an email from a player saying the site has been off for days. We verified this.

February 27, 2010 Pinnacle (Rating A) Website Back Up and Running. Site appears to be back up and running today after suffering server failure yesterday. Pinnacle is a top sportsbook and has thousands of customers that log into the site daily. Management says that all data is continuously backed up and nothing was lost.

 

February 22, 2010 BFC Group (lines2bet, lay104, Betfirstclass) institutes a 14 day waiting period after incoming Book2Book transfers to prevent "passing through", a practice of transferring funds to a sportsbook that handles payouts better and faster and then requesting a payout immediately. The BFC family of sites are notorious for their same day and super fast payouts.

 

February 15, 2010 Stryyke (Rating D+) Pays Some owed Players. Owed players have reported that payments have started coming in. In total, Stryyke has settled with about half of slow paid players. We will keep an eye on the progress.

 

February 15, 2010 OddsCompany Enters Review Guide at D Rating. Oddscompany is an Australian firm that seems to have a propensity to rip people off. They create clever ways to take back bonuses as well as stiff players on payouts. We have received several complaints about this book. Stay away.

February 14, 2010 Owner of BetFirstClass Detained on

Old Tax Charges (12:24 pm ET). BetFirstClass, Lines2Bet, and Lay104 have been downgraded upon news that owner has been arrested on charges relating from 2004-05 tax evasion. Sources at the book say it won't affect anything and it will be business as usual. Note: (2:29 pm EST) - Just spoke to "Judge" at BFC and he says business as usual and as of now, owner has been detained but not charged.

 

February 11, 2010 Bodog Color Blind? Bodog (Rating B+) misgrades prop wager on Super Bowl. Players write in about how they bet on a prop wager on what color Kim Kardashian's shirt would be. The odds on favorite was black, which the players in question bet. The stipulations of the bet were that only the shirt counted, and no jacket, or scarf or anything of that nature. Bodog has graded these wagers initially as a loss and now has just refunded the bet. We will keep SA readers posted on any developments. You decide what color her "top" is: LOOK at PIC

February 3, 2010 WSEX (Rating D) Confiscates players funds. We received a report this morning explaining how a player at WSEX was able to predict cards in a casino game because the software had a glitch in it. The player racked up over $14,000 in wins. WSEX confiscated the funds and shut down the player. Many in the industry think it was unfair of WSEX to take this action since the player did nothing on his part to cheat but simply took advantage of a glitch. January 29, 2010 WagerHub Enters Review Guide at D+ Rating. This sportsbook is relatively new on the scene. They have a nice website and layout. There have been a few "misunderstandings" in which players were slow paid for whatever reason. Attempts to speak with manager have not always been successful. We enter them into our database at D+, a good middle rating, awaiting more feedback as time goes on.

January 19, 2010 Matchbook (Rating B) institutes a four X (four times) rollover rule on any incoming Book to Book transfers. They used to have a 1X rollover for this same service but claim players are using them as a "pass through" meaning using them as a way to bring money through because they payout quicker. There have been several other complaints this month about Matchbook's customer service etc. We are keeping our eye on this sportsbook and will adjust rating accordingly.

We contact CreditWagering and they say everything will be back to normal soon and that most players are current. We will keep this situation updated.

Funds earned from a free $50 give away were worked up to $1500 and when player requested withdrawal, Oddsmaker acting in typical "Oddsmaker" fashion; They shut them down. Still one of the better books to play with online, Wagerweb this week confiscated some funds from players whom they accused of being "professional players". Also, they have been selectively enforcing their "correlated plays" rule. We are going to downgrade them and, at least temporarily, remove them from the recommended list.

 

December 17, 2009 SportsInteraction (Rating C-) Stalls Payout Requests. Players request payouts and Sports Interaction has them send in the necessary security documents, but then stalls players telling them it will take days and days to review documents. Some players are reporting waiting several weeks under this stall tactic.
