Some Sportsbooks can be a little deceptive when advertising these things. What some don't tell you with these great bonuses is that there is what is called a rollover clause. This means you have to bet the entire amount of the deposit at least once (1X rollover). A lot of the sites with the best bonuses, have the highest rollover amounts. Some have as high as four or five time rollovers before you can collect the bonuses.

Rollovers do make sense though, other wise people would just deposit large sums of money and then withdraw all of it the next day after the bonus has been added. Some sportsbooks use bonuses as a way to make players keep wagering. And beware of the ridiculous 6X+ rollovers. Never count on bonus money, and if you happen to exceed the rollover and collect the bonus, only then can you count it. Never sign up for any rollover over 5X.
