2015 College Football Conference Championship Futures

February 15, 2015

The inaugural College Football Playoff was completed only about one month ago and the college football season does not start until September 3, but bettors can begin placing future wagers for conference winners on major offshore sportsbooks.

Future odds have been released for the five major conference championships in college football.

Ohio State the defending national champions has been placed as the favorites -150 to repeat as the champions of the Big Ten.

Other favorites to win their respective conference are Clemson +250, Oregon +250, Alabama +200 and TCU +200.

Since there is no title game played in the Big 12, the tiebreaker is the team with the highest final ranking in the College Football Playoff when the regular season ends.

The five major college conferences dominate college football especially the national championships. The last time a team that was not a member of the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12 or SEC to win a national championship was in 1984 when the BYU Cougars were the national champions.

The conferences will once have a number of key matchups during the season in 2015. Florida State and Ohio State broke the strangle hold that the SEC conference had on the national championship. Florida State won in 2013 and Ohio State 2014, which broke the SEC strangled hold of 7 straight seasons with the college football national champions from the SEC.
