Alabama Tops Win Totals for 2017 College Football with 10.5

The 2017 college football regular season is just over three months from the opening kickoff. This week odds makers released win totals for the regular season giving bettors one more futures board to consider as the season inches closer.
Alabama is the favorite to win the national championship on most online sportsbooks and this week opened with the highest win total for the regular season. The Tide’s win total for the season is 10.5.
The Ohio State Buckeyes opened with the win total of 10, making them the only other team that has a win total of double-digits.
Six teams follow Ohio State with win totals of 9.5 including Florida State, USC, Washington, Penn State, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Ohio State hosts Oklahoma during Week 2.
Alabama has a showdown on September 2 with Florida State in Atlanta. The Tide is currently 4-point chalk for that game against the Seminoles. Alabama has been given the favorite label in 97 of its last 98 games.
You have to go all the way back to October 3, 2015 when Alabama was a 1-point dog on the road against Georgia for the last time the Tide was not chalk. Alabama ended up winning that game easily 38-10.
Alabama has 11 wins or more in each of its last six regular seasons, as well as in 8 of the 10 years that Nick Saban has been the Crimson Tide’s head coach. Several online sportsbooks have the OVER of 10.5 wins for Alabama at odds of 4 to 5.
Clemson, the defending national champion, which was an upset winner over Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, was amongst a group of teams with 9 wins that included Louisville, Michigan, LSU, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State.
The win totals released this past week do not include any conference title games, bowl games or college playoff games. Several sportsbooks have put limits of $500 on the win totals future bets due to the season being so far from starting.
Odds for the winners of each of the Power 5 conferences were also released, with Alabama favored to win the SEC, Florida State the ACC, Ohio State the Big Ten, Oklahoma State the Big 12 and USC the Pac-12.
