Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons Odds to Win NFC South

July 20, 2015

The 2105 NFL regular season is quickly approaching. Training camps will begin later this month while preseason games will start in August with the regular season kicking of Thursday September 10.

Two teams expected to fight for the NFC South crown are the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons. Carolina is 45 to 1 to win Super Bowl 50 and +220 to win the NFC South. Atlanta has the identical odds as Carolina at 45 to 1 to win the Super Bowl and +220 to take the South title.

Last season the Panthers overcame the car accident of quarter Cam Newton. This season Devin Funchess their draft pick in the second round should help the team’s offense.

The Panthers also play in a rather weak division, which should help them in their attempt to win a third straight division title.

On the down side, the offense still has holes. Michael Oher will replace Byron Bell at left tackle, but is coming off an unsuccessful year in Tennessee. DeAngelo Williams has left which will hurt as well.

The defense will give the offense chances to win games. The team has a win total of 8 at -130 on the UNDER and even money on the OVER.

The Falcons entered the 2014 with hopes of coming back from a poor 2013 season, but they failed to reach the postseason.

On the positive side, Julio Jones missed last season and should help upon his return this season. Dan Quinn takes over as the head coach and will eventually have the Falcons defense at another level. The offense will be what helps the team win games, and the defense needs to make sure they do not lose games for the team.

On the downside, the defense to start will not be as good as Quinn eventually will make them, but Quinn should make that transformation fast.

Odds makers have Atlanta at eight wins with the OVER at -120.
