NCAA Football and NFL Notable Trends

October 2, 2020
Bo Nix vs Georgia

As we head into week 5 of the college football and week 4 of the NFL, we look at a few trends which you can use to make your picks/bets.

Trend Betting

Trends can be a nice way to make money if you catch them before they end , of course. One thing that you should pay attention to is how many players and /or coaches has a team turned over in that period of time. Also, how young is the team? How inexperienced is the QB? And if you are betting the opposite team, ask yourself , do you want to bet against the opposite side of a trend? Some handicappers ignore trends altogether. We think they have some validity but are definitely not a sure thing. They should be considered when betting a game but not relied upon totally.

Georgia (-7.5) vs Auburn (44.5)

The spread is just a bit over a TD and has risen from 6.5 points in the last twelve hours at top sportsbooks. Georgia is 6-1 straight up and against the spread in their last 7 outings vs Auburn. The Under has cashed in 8 of the last 10 meeting between these two teams. More on the Georgia vs Auburn game here.

Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (49)

The Bengals have struggled mightily the last few years at home. They are just 2-18-1 SU in their last 21 games and just 3-10-2 ATS in their last 15 at home. Cincinnati is 1-3-1 ATS in its last 5 games when playing at home against Jacksonville.
