Oscar Award Odds

January 17, 2014

We usually try to keep the stories on SBA limited to sports and sportsbooks but once in a while we will post Entertainment betting odds. In the past we have posted odds about “Survivor”, The Grammys, “American Idol” as well as The Oscars. This years Oscar award odds have been released and it appears the “White Guilt” is alive and well in the Academy. Oddmakers have “12 years a Slave” as the favorite to win it all ( and  the Academy has it nominated for basically every category). If this award was based on what the public actually liked the best and flocked to see “Gravity” would easily get the nod. I say don’t rule out a low key/low budget film like “Her” starring Joaquin Phoenix. At 75/1 odds it may be worth throwing a C Note down and hoping the Academy doesn’t go for the easy PC move.
