Over/Under Between Rams and Chiefs Reaches 64

November 13, 2018

The Los Angeles Rams visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 11 of the NFL regular season. For those that love to bet the over/under point total, this game should have your full interest.

Odds makers expect fireworks south of the border when the two teams with matching 9-1 records meet in Mexico City at famed Estadio Azteca.

Sportsbooks opened the over/under at 59.5 but it has increased to has high as 64 and if that number were to hold, it would be the highest since 1986. The opening point spread for the game had the Rams as the favorite by one points, but as of Tuesday morning that number inched up to Los Angeles -1.5.

Here is why odds makers are expecting scoring to start early and continue throughout the game next Monday.

The Chiefs are ranked No. 2 in the NFL in scoring with 353 points or 35.3 points per game, after defeating Arizona on Sunday 26-14. The Rams are close behind having scored 335 points to average 33.5 points per game after defeating Seattle this past Sunday by the score of 36-31.

While playing in Mexico City should not be any different than any other field, two previous NFL games have been played at Azteca with the teams averaging a combined 44 points.

The Rams own the No. 5 passing offense in the NFL averaging 303.2 yards per game and the second best rushing offense at 144.8 yards per game. While scoring 33.5 points per game, the Rams are allowing an average of 23.1 points each game.

In comparison, the Chiefs have the No. 4 ranked passing offense at 305.5 yards per game and the No. 13 ranked rushing offense at 117.6 yards per game. While the Chiefs are scoring 35.3 points per game, their defense is giving up an average of 24.0 points each game.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff has thrown for 3,134 yards and 22 touchdowns, while running back Todd Gurley II has rushed for 988 and 13 touchdowns. The Rams top wide receiver Brandin Cooks has 857 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 3,150 yards and 31 touchdown, while running back Kareem Hunt has rushed for 754 yards and seven touchdowns. The Chiefs top receiver Tyreek Hill has 891 yards and nine touchdowns.

Lots of numbers to digest before next Monday, but you can expect to see more than just fireworks in the skies above the stadium as there will be plenty on the field from the opening kickoff until the final whistle.
