SEC and Big Ten Tournament Final Trends

The Big Ten and SEC Tournament Finals will be played on Sunday before the NCAA selection committee announces the field for the 2016 NCAA Tournament.

The SEC final will be played at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday between the No. 1 seeded Texas A&M Aggies and the No. 2 seeded Kentucky Wildcats.

Texas A&M: 26-7 SU and 15-11-2 ATS

Kentucky: 25-8 SU and 17-16 ATS

The SEC’s top two seeds face off on Sunday for the conference championship. Kentucky was defeated at College Station February 20 by the Aggies 79-77 in overtime.

The win gave the Aggies the tiebreaker in the conference standings and the No. 1 tournament seed.

Kentucky rallied to beat Georgia Saturday in its semifinal. Kentucky has now reached three consecutive SEC championship games. Kentucky’s 13-point win on Saturday covered as 10-point chalk.

Texas A&M eliminated LSU in the other semifinals 71-38. The Aggies easily covered as 7.5-point chalk. LSU was held to just 13 points by the Texas A&M defense in the first half.

The Aggies have played exceptional basketball of late winning 8 consecutive games and covering in seven of the eight.

In the Big Ten final, the Michigan State Spartans seeded No. 2 will face No. 4 seed the Purdue Boilermakers.

Michigan State: 28-5 straight up and 22-10 against the spread

Purdue: 26-7 SU and 17-11-1 ATS

The last time the Spartans lost was in overtime versus Purdue February 9 as 3-point dogs. Michigan State has won eight straight since, while covering the number in seven of the eight wins.

The only loss ATS was in Saturday’s win in the semifinals 64-61 versus Maryland as 5-point chalk.

Purdue easily beat Michigan in its semifinal 76-59. The Boilermakers are 4-0 ATS over their past four. Purdue has cashed on the UNDER in five of its past 6 games versus conference opponents.
