Turkey day is here again. Time to be mindful and thankful for all the blessings in our life. Among those blessings are football of both college and professional varieties.

For many years there was one game played on Thanksgiving. That was a game the Detroit Lions would host. The game was created by the Lions owner as a way to boost interest in his new team. About thirty years later, Dallas jumped on the Thanksgiving schedule and have hosted a game on the holiday since 1966.

A few years ago, the NFL added a third NFL game to fill the night-time slot for those fans not in a total coma from turkey consumption. They randomly pick the teams to fill that game. More about Thanksgiving Day NFL game history click here

Now, there are several college football games played on Thanksgiving too. So, if you are sick of the Lions and Cowboys every year, you can watch some college pigskin. Below are the games for the 2018 Thanksgiving day lineup and the point spreads:

12:30 pm EST
Chicago -2.5
Detroit 44

The 7-3 Bears are hungry for the playoffs while the 4-6 Lions seem to be floundering and heading for the scrap heap. The Bears are on a four game win streak. The Lions just beat a decent Panthers team on Sunday though. Detroit is 6-2 ATS in its last 8 games when playing at home against Chicago. Detroit is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing at home against Chicago. 4:30 pm EST
Washington 40.5
Dallas -7

This one came out at Dallas -9 but the early sharps bet it back to an even TD. It’s hard to lay more than a TD in a rivalry game even if the visiting team is starting their backup QB (Colt McCoy). Dallas is 2-9 ATS in its last 11 games when playing at home against Washington.

8:20 pm EST
Atlanta 60
New Orleans -13

The hapless Falcons travel to one of (if not the) hottest teams in the NFL to do battle. The Falcons are having a forgettable 4-6 season while the Saints are 9-1. New Orleans is 5-2 ATS in its last 7 games when playing at home against Atlanta. Already have a sportsbook? College Games

3:30 pm EST
Colorado State 62.5
Air Force -14.5

The 3-8 Rams are at the 4-7 Falcons. The Rams have lost their last four games in a row. The Falcons have only won one of their last four, beating New Mexico, which Colorado State also defeated six weeks ago. Air Force is 4-1-1 ATS in its last 6 games at home. The total has gone OVER in 4 of Air Force’s last 5 games when playing at home against Colorado State.

7:30 pm EST
Miss State -11
Ole Miss 61

The 7-4 Mississippi State team is ranked 21st in the nation. But they have four losses. Ole’ Miss is 5-6 straight up. There isn’t much on the line here but if fans want to see a good old fashioned in-state rivalry slobber knocker this may be it. Mississippi State is 2-6-1 ATS in its last 9 games when playing on the road against Mississippi. The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Mississippi State’s last 8 games when playing on the road against Mississippi.
