Two Week 8 College Football Sure Bets

October 21, 2015

College football’s regular season continues into Week 8 with number of top choices to pick from when deciding what game or games to play.

These two might be just what you are looking for the upcoming weekend

Texas A&M at Ole Miss

This could be the elimination game in the SEC West as both teams already have a loss and LSU remains unbeaten. Texas A&M was riding high entering last week’s game a home against Alabama but left the game deflated as well as defeated 41-23. Three Kyle Allen passes were intercepted and returned for touchdowns by Alabama. On defense, the Aggies could not stop Derrick Henry the Tide’s tough running back who ran for 236 yards.

Ole Miss was caught looking ahead to this game by Memphis and the Tigers rolled to a 37-24 upset of the Rebels. Any lack of concentration last week by Ole Miss will not be present this week when they play Texas A&M.

The Aggies are 1-6 ATS over their past 7 games following a loss. Ole Miss is 10-4 ATS over their past 14 games played in October

Lean: Ole Miss -5.5

Florida State at Georgia Tech

The spread in this matchup is hard to figure out. FSU is unbeaten, while Georgia Tech in a huge disappointment this season losing five straight and giving up 30 points or more in each of the five losses.

The run offense of Georgia Tech averages 51 rushes per game, but they will go up against the No. 19 ranked rushing defense in the nation.

The Seminoles to realistically lose must turn the ball over multiple times. They must play terrible defense against the run and make multiple mistakes.

That likely will not happen. This line should be at least 10. FSU has covered six of its last eight games on the road versus teams that are below .500 at home.

Lean: A heavy lean toward Florida State -6
