NFL Odds Change Post Free Agency Moves

Scott Morris | March 18, 2013

It seems no matter what the Patriots do they will be favored to win the Super Bowl every year as long as they have Bill Billichick and “Golden Boy” Tom Brady. This is the fact even though the Pats haven’t won the Super Bowl since February of 2005. They have lost two appearances to the N.Y. Giants since then. (See Super Bowl Winners here). The Patriots were favored to win at 5/1 odds before free agency started. During the last week they lost All Pro Wes Welker and signed WR Danny Amendola to replace him. Many would consider this a downgrade but the odds stayed steady at 1/5.

The Miami Dolphins made some major moves to improve their team and naturally their Super Bowl odds improved as well.  They signed WR Mike Wallace, LB’s Dannell Ellerby and Philip Weaver as well as TE Dustin Keller.  Miami’s Super Bowl odds moved from 50/1 to 40/1.
