Opening Lines, Totals and Trends for AFC and NFC Title Games

The AFC and NFC Conference Championship Games are set for this Sunday. Here are the opening lines, records, head to head and trends from the playoffs for the teams in each game.

New England vs. Denver

This game opened with New England as 2.5-point chalk on the road, but that quickly increased to New England -3. One or two offshore books have New England -3.5. The moneyline currently has New England from -115 to -125. The point total is 44.5 and has stayed there thus far.

New England on the road this season is 5-3 straight up and 3-5 against the spread.

Denver at home is 7-2 SU and 3-5-1 ATS.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning did not play this season, but New England lost in overtime to Denver 30-24 back in Week 12.

Pats beat Kansas City 27-20 to reach this game. The Patriots cashed as 6-point chalk. New England is 8-3 SU over its past 11 playoff games. There has not been a road favorite in the AFC Championship in 12 seasons.

Denver beat Pittsburgh 23-16 to reach this game. The win was a push as the Broncos were favored by 7 points.

Arizona vs. Carolina

The line on this opened at Carolina -3, while the total was 48.5.

Arizona on the road this season was 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS.

Carolina at home this season was 9-0 SU and 7-2 ATS.

The two teams did not play head to head this season.

With Cam Newton, the Panthers are 1-2 SU and ATS versus Arizona.

Arizona knocked off Green Bay in overtime 26-20 to reach the NFC title game. Carolina was ahead 31-0 at half versus Seattle. However, the Panthers allowed 24 unanswered second half points but hung on 31-24.

The Panthers are just 2-2 in the NFL postseason with Cam Newton under center.

The OVER has cashed in 11 of Carolina’s 17 games, while at home the OVER was 6-2-1.
