The game between these two rivals tips at 6 p tonight. The game is being played at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg Virginia. Virginia Tech is a 3 point favorite at online sportsbooks.
Coming into this game Virginia Tech has had a very tough time. They have lost and not covered their last five games. They are in a bad way. For a young team that showed so much promise just a couple of years ago, they appear to be flailing in the wind.
Regarding the current Hokie losing streak Coach Mike Young said “It’s not the most comfortable feeling. Nobody wants to pop out of this thing and win games again any more than I do, any more than my team does.” This is Tech’s longest losing streak in four years.
Pitt isn’t exactly where they would like to be as a program either. At 15-10 straight up and just 12-13 ATS, the Panthers are mediocre. Pitt is 2-3 SU and ATS in their last five outings.
When previewing this game we though thought that it should be a pick em’ or maybe Va Tech -1 or -1.5. The fact that current line sits at Va Tech -3 has us taking Pitt plus the points in this one. It simple comes down to a team that can’t get out of its own way against a team that isn’t much better, but is getting points. We’ll keep this one simple, take the points.
