Big Ten Conference Odds & Picks

June 21, 2021

College football cannot get here quick enough. In the meantime it helps to study the teams and odds to be fully ready for when that start date approaches.

The Big Ten Conference is considered by most college football fans to be the second strongest conference on an annual basis (behind SEC of course). In this article we will list the Big Ten Conference Champion odds as well as our pick to win the conference as well as a long shot pick for those looking to cash in on higher paying odds.

Quick Synopsis

The Big Ten odds are topped by the usual suspects: Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn State. Ohio State is in reload mode as they lose their top players to the 2020 NFL draft. The QB situation at OSU isn’t so cut and dry. This may be the year the underlings in the Big Ten have been looking for.

It seems pretty clear that if Jim Harbaugh isn’t able to have a very successful season (or beat OSU) his time in Ann Arbor is up. I actually think the OSU upset will happen behind fresh face QB Cade McNamara. Bookmark this pick for November 27 when these two teams square off.

Wisconsin will be good again on the strength of their defense, which ranked third in the Big ten last season. But their offense will continue to struggle to put up big numbers. It will probably be another third place finish for the Badgers in the Big Ten.

Picks

Our pick to win the Big Ten is also our longshot pick, so this paragraph will kill two birds with one stone. I think that all the years of Harbaugh’s toiling will finally pay off and he wins the conference with only one or two losses total. OSU will have a little bit of an off year as they struggle to find their offensive identity after losing the best QB and RB in the conference.
