NFL Coach of the Year Odds Updated -Belichick Heavy Favorite

December 11, 2021
NFL COTY Odds 2021

An NFL coach of the year usually ends up with the award after guiding his already very talented team to an impeccable record and a deep run into the playoffs or even winning a Super Bowl. The other way to get this award is to take a team which is not overly-talented and overachieve with them. This is the scenario this year with Bill Belichick and his Patriots.

Yes the Patriots are talented but they don’t really have the superstars who typically put the team on their shoulders and carry them. This team is currently 8-4 with a rookie QB under center. They are coming off a game where they beat the Bills at Buffalo and only threw the ball a total of three times. They lined up and played fundamental football and won soundly.

The coaching of Belichick and his staff really is masterful. Its a program in which the players have bought in and are achieving great things. It also helps solidify Belichick’s role in winning his previous six Super Bowl titles which some have credited solely to the play of Tom Brady. The Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick is the heavy favorite at this point to win the NFL Coach of the Year Award at +125 odds.

The only other two coaches under +1000 are Arizona’s Kliff Kingsbury and Green Bay’s Matt LeFleur. Kingsbury has a very talented team and has managed it very well by juggling hurt players and knowing when to sit a guy or two. The red birds are 10-2 and are considered by many to be the best team in the league at this moment.

LaFleur and Green Bay have put together a heck of a season too despite all of the off-field drama mostly surrounding his QB Aaron Rodgers. The Pack are 9-3 and look to be a real force in the postseason.

Below you can find the current odds for coach of the year heading into week 14 of the regular season.
