MNF Rams at Cardinals Preview and Pick

December 13, 2021
Rams vs Cardinals Free Pick

If you are one of the ten thousand regular readers of this site, then hopefully you made good with the NFL picks we posted this week. These picks were derived from trends which are available to the general public. We did not insert any of our own bias. It was the second week in a row these type of picks went 5-0.

Tonight’s game was not included in the original 5 picks because although there are some good matchup trends but other trends conflict with a clear play. We will go over those trends in this article in pursuit of having a pick for tonight’s games.

The Rams and the Cardinals are both considered upper echelon teams in the league. Both are expected to make the playoffs. Arizona is 10-2 overall and 9-3 against the spread. The Rams are 8-4 straight up and 5-7 ATS.

The Rams average 28 PPG on offense but allow 22 PPG with a 6 point differential. Not a great gap. Arizona scores 28 PPG but only allows 18 PPG. That is a full 10 point gap and is very strong.

Here are the trends which support a play on tonight’s game:

Bet the Rams:

  • LA Rams are 8-1 SU in its last 9 games when playing Arizona
  • LA Rams are 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Arizona
  • LA Rams are 7-1-1 ATS in its last 9 games when playing Arizona
  • LA Rams are 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Arizona
  • LA Rams are 8-4 SU in its last 12 games
  • Arizona is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games at home

Bet the Cardinals:

  • LA Rams are 2-5 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
  • LA Rams are 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games
  • Arizona is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games
  • Arizona is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games

As you see there are clear conflicting trends. Earlier this year the Cardinals already dispatched of the Rams 37-20 in L.A. Is this proof they will do so again but this time at home? Or is it L.A.’s chance to return the favor?

65% of the betting public is backing the Cardinals at home. The point spread is currently ARZ -2.5 at top rated sportsbooks. If backed into a corner and forced to bet this one I would take the Rams plus the points and maybe even buy it to +3.5 points. I cannot give a clear cut pick on this one however and will just be watching it purely from a fan perspective and not a gambling one.
