Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Kansas City Chiefs – Week 2 Free Pick

September 15, 2023
Chiefs vs Jaguars free pick week 2

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Kansas City Chiefs are all set to go head to head on Sunday, September 17 at 1:00pm ET for some Week 2 NFL action. The Chiefs (0-1) need to win this game if they want to get back on track. The NFL point spread is currently KC -3.5 and the total is 51

The Chiefs struggled quite a bit and ultimately, lost 21-20 against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. However, on the other side, the Jaguars got the season opener they needed, winning 31-21 against the Indianapolis Colts.

What do previous games have to say about the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The Jaguars pretty much ran the table in exhibition play this year.

They had a remarkable 3-0 preseason which was enough to get the players’ spirits high for the regular season. They first won 28-23 against the Dallas Cowboys and then went on to defeat the Detroit Lions 25-7. Their third and final game was against the Miami Dolphins and they won yet again, 31-18.

Week 1 of the regular NFL season was even better because it actually counted. They matched up against the Colts for the opener and after going back and forth for most of the game, the Jaguars scored two unanswered touchdowns that secured the win for them. One of the most prominent players throughout the game was quarterback Trevor Lawrence who threw for 241 yards and had 7 carries for 21 yards. Running back Travis Etienne was their leading rusher with a total of 77 yards and a touchdown. Most of all, wide receiver Calvin Ridley’s return to the NFL was great for the team looking at his 101 receiving yards.

The Jaguars have more than enough potential to win this game and they wouldn’t want anything to get in the way of their winning streak.

How have the Kansas City Chiefs played up till now?

The Chiefs’ journey up until Week 2 hasn’t been that bad.

They had quite a good preseason this year, finishing 2-1. After losing 26-24 against the New Orleans Saints in the exhibition opener, they did not lose hope. They proceeded to not only win 38-10 against the Arizona Cardinals but also defeat the Cleveland Browns 33-32.

However, the team took a step back in Week 1 of the regular season when they were outscored in the second half of the game against the Lions.

Their players struggled on the field and their efforts just weren’t enough. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes finished with 226 pass yards and two scores. His favorite target Travis Kelce was suffering from a knee injury and had to sit the game out which made things difficult. He is questionable for this Sunday. Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught two balls for 48 yards but that didn’t make the situation any better. Even Justin Watson and his pair of catches for 45 yards weren’t of any help either.

The Chiefs need to work a lot harder if they want to make things better for the team in the upcoming games.

What to expect in Week 2?

The last time both these teams went against one another, it was a close game. As Kansas City heads towards Jacksonville once again, predictions say that the game will be just as nerve wracking as before. However, the Jaguars’ offense looked a lot better than the Chiefs in Week 1 and that just may be the plus point they need to win this game. IN any case, take the Jags at home. Buy the half a point to make it +3.5 at any of the top rated sportsbooks if it comes back down to a FG before gametime.
