October 11, 2023
injury report week 6 nfl

Week 5, just like every other week, brought with it many outstanding performances but also a number of injuries as well. Quite a few players had to leave their games for one reason or another. Watching your favorite players being forced off the field and missing out on the games isn’t the best but, at the end of the day, it is all part of the NFL season. Here is a roundup of a few notable injuries from Week 5:

  •       Daniel Jones:

The New York Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, had to leave the game against the Miami Dolphins due to a neck issue, similar to the one he faced at the end of the 2021 season. The team hasn’t given any update yet and fans are hoping the issue isn’t serious enough to make the player miss out on the upcoming games.

  •     Travis Kelce:

The tight end from Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce, suffered a low ankle sprain during his game against the Minnesota Vikings. It happened when he, early in the game, slipped while catching a short pass. He was seen heading towards the locker room and later returned with a taped ankle. He continued to play and even caught a touchdown pass, confirming that he was doing alright.

  •       Justin Jefferson:

Another player from the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Justin Jefferson, suffered from a hamstring injury when he slipped while running a route in the second half of the game against the Vikings. It is still uncertain how long it will take the player to return to the field.

  •     KaVontae Turpin:

During the first half of the game against the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver KaVontae Turpin was pushed on a kickoff return and landed quite awkwardly. This resulted in a high ankle injury to the player and he was ruled out for the rest of the game after halftime. We are still unsure of the severity of the injury but there is a high chance that he may have to sit out quite a few games in the upcoming weeks.

  •       Matt Milano:

The Buffalo Bills’ defense keeps losing one player after the other. In their Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, linebacker Matt Milano suffered a knee injury as well as a fractured leg. The player may now be looking at missing out on the rest of the 2023 season.

  •       Nathaniel Dell:

The Houston Texans lost their wide receiver to a concussion during their game against the Atlanta Falcons. The player banged his head against the turf hauling in a deep pass. He headed towards the locker room immediately after and was, eventually, ruled out for the rest of the game.

  •         Zay Jones:

The wide receiver from the Jacksonville Jaguars was playing for the first time since Week 2 when he left the game against the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury. The player did not return for the rest of the game and his status is still uncertain.

Players will continue to come and go and it has the fans hooked. They are eager to witness what will go down next in the 2023 NFL season.

  •      Daniel Jones

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been ruled out for this weekend because of a neck injury. The announcement came Friday afternoon. Some folks in the industry were expecting this as Jones left the Dolphins game late after a hit. The point spread has moved from Buffalo -14 to -15.

  •      De’Von Achane

The Dolphins are placing running back De’Von Achane on injured reserve, ensuring that he will miss at least the next four games. He hurt his knee in the game vs the NY Giants. Achane was on pace for a record year and was second in rushing yards behind only Christian McCaffrey despite not being the starting running back. He is averaging an eye-popping 12.1 yards per carry. Fantasy football owners of Raheem Mostert should benefit from him not having to share carries with Achane.
