NFL Miami at Philadelphia SNF Free Picks

In what may be a Super Bowl preview, a pair of 5-1 East division leaders meet in Philadelphia Sunday evening when the Miami Dolphins oppose the Eagles.

It’s the best game on the Week 7 schedule, though the home team did stumble last week.

Miami spotted the visiting Carolina Panthers two touchdowns last Sunday, then disposed of them, 42-21. The Fish totaled 424 yards, 262 through the air.

Philadelphia lost its first game of the season, having stumbled through a 20-14 defeat to the New York Jets at the Meadowlands. Four turnovers did them no favors.

Philly is a 2½-point favorite (total at 51½), according to NFL odds.

Moneyline is Eagles -145, Dolphins +125.

These two teams are among the choices to win the title, Philadelphia at 15-2 (+750), Miami at 10-1 (+1000), as per Super Bowl LVIII odds.

Miami has a 9-6 lead in the all-time series (winning last two).

Fish  Quite Offensive

The Miami Dolphins come in averaging a league-high 37.2 points per game, Opponents haven’t found a way to throttle this offense, which has excelled in the air and on the ground.

Averaging nearly 500 yards per outing (498.7, to be exact) means Miami is more than 100 more yards “better” than the San Francisco 49ers’ total of 395.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (1,876 passing yards, 14 touchdowns. five interceptions) has been injury-free this season, and that’s the main reason the Fish have thrived.

Wideout Tyreek Hill (42 receptions, 814 yards, six touchdowns) continues to run roughshod through opposition defenses, as has Jaylen Waddle (24 receptions, 296 yards).

Running back Raheem Mostert (429 yards) is the rusher of choice with De’Von Achane (knee) on injured reserve.

Defensively susceptible (26 points/game), Miami can’t afford the same early-game malaise here it had last week against the lowly Panthers.

Eagles’ Self-Inflicted Stinker

Prior to last Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles were 12-0 all-time against the New York Jets.

Jets 20, Eagles 14.

Jalen HurtsPhiladelphia didn’t help itself, especially the three interceptions by quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Hurts (1,542 passing yards, seven touchdowns, seven interceptions) has been more of a wild card this season, already with one more pick than all of last season.

Wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have a combined 70 receptions and over 1,000 yards (four touchdowns),

D’Andre Swift (86 rushes, 452 yards) remains a pleasant surprise in the backfield, while Hurts himself has five ground touchdowns.

Philly’s defense remains stingy, especially against the run (65.8 yards/game, second to the Detroit Lions). Do not expect the Dolphins to abandon the run game, however.

Phish in Philly

It’s a great game Sunday evening, At least it figures to be. Against the Jets, Philadelphia struggled to find the end zone. That hasn’t been a problem with Miami at all.

While both rosters have plenty of stars, expect Tyreek Hill to be the difference-maker at some point in the game.
