NFL 1500+ Yard Rusher Odds

Since 2000, only 37 NFL rushers have eclipsed 1,500 yards rushing in a single season. That equates to approximately 1.5 per season. The rate is expected to raise slightly as the regular season was extended by one game several seasons ago.
In previous seasons, a running back would need to average 93.5 yards per game to exceed 1500. Now that number is 88.24 yards per game to achieve the same mark.
The most recent 5 running backs to rush for over 1500 yards are:
- Saquon Barkley – 2,005 yards (2024, Philadelphia Eagles)
- Josh Jacobs – 1,653 yards (2022, Las Vegas Raiders)
- Jonathan Taylor – 1,811 yards (2021, Indianapolis Colts)
- Derrick Henry – 2,027 yards (2020, Tennessee Titans)
- Dalvin Cook – 1,557 yards (2020, Minnesota Vikings)
2000+ Rushing Yards
2K yards seems to be the # people pay attention to. It’s a nice round number and its achievement is really a rare feat.
Nine NFL running backs have rushed for 2,000 yards or more in a single season. They are:
- Eric Dickerson – 2,105 yards (1984, Los Angeles Rams)
- Adrian Peterson – 2,097 yards (2012, Minnesota Vikings)
- Jamal Lewis – 2,066 yards (2003, Baltimore Ravens)
- Barry Sanders – 2,053 yards (1997, Detroit Lions)
- Derrick Henry – 2,027 yards (2020, Tennessee Titans)
- Terrell Davis – 2,008 yards (1998, Denver Broncos)
- Chris Johnson – 2,006 yards (2009, Tennessee Titans)
- Saquon Barkley – 2,005 yards (2024, Philadelphia Eagles)
- O.J. Simpson – 2,003 yards (1973, Buffalo Bills)
1500+ Rushing Yards Odds for 2025
Statistically we will most likely see two running backs hit the 1500+ yard mark on the ground this season. I have a feeling it will be more than 2. You can bet multiple running backs on this list if you think you know who it will be.
Saquon Barkley -110
Derrick Henry +175
Jonathan Taylor +350
Bijan Robinson +450
Jahmyr Gibbs +650
