We are Playing This +3500 NFL Longshot to Win Super Bowl LX

Scott Morris | July 18, 2025
Super Bowl 60

In case you don’t speak Roman Numeral, Super Bowl LX is Super Bowl 60 and it will be played on February 8, 2026, at the end of this upcoming season. It will be hosted at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California and will be broadcast on NBC.

This is the time of year we start combing over team lineups to see if we can predict winners and losers for the upcoming season. Remember, you can win money on losing teams by betting against them or finding a great season win total that is much too high.

Today we placed a wager on a +3500 longshot team to win the Super Bowl. This pick may surprise some people and have them saying something along the lines of “yeah, right” or “that guy is cooked”. But, we like the pick because there is plenty of value.

The team we are talking about is the Pittsburgh Steelers and their new QB Aaron Rodgers. See, you probably thought “yeah, right” didn’t you? Tisk tisk.

The Steelers are a very talented team. They have been lackluster since Ben Roethlisberger retired. Big Ben was able to make three Super Bowl appearances under coach Mike Tomlin, winning two of them. They lost that Super Bowl to… Aaron Rodgers. Now Mike Tomlin has a chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy with Aaron Rodgers as his QB. The NFL loves a good full-circle storyline.

Word behind the scenes is that Tomlin is telling Rodgers to let it all hang out. To play with a gunslinger mentality and leave it all on the field. After all, this is Rodgers’ last season. He said as much on the Pat Macafee Show.

The Steelers were 10-7 last season with a broken-down Russell Wilson. He threw for just 2,465 yards and 16 TD’s whereas Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards and 28 TD’s with the hapless Jets last season. If he has that production in Pittsburgh, you can count on that win total soaring to 12 or 13 wins.

That brings me to my first recommended bet: Over 8.5 win for Pittsburgh, offered at Sportsbetting.ag – To me, this is a no-brainer.

Steelers Roster

The Steelers defense ranked #7 overall last season. It’s supposed to be even better this year. They added Darius Slay in the secondary and traded Micah Fitzpatrick for Jalen Ramsey. They drafted Derrick Harmon and Yahya Black to add strength to the defensive line, which already features possibly the best DE in the game in T.J. Watt.

On offense, the Steelers added DK Metcalf. He is still a very solid receiver and is probably good for 8 touchdowns or so.

Conclusion

The 2025-2026 season is a hail-Mary year for the Steelers. Expect plenty of offensive scheming. Expect the team to have more fun as they lay it all out there. I think Mike Tomlin will be gone if they don’t make a deep run at the Super Bowl but at this point, he wouldn’t mind leaving anyway. He wants one more ring and may move on even if they were to win the championship.

The Steelers are +1800 to win the AFC. This is a bet to consider if you think they are good enough to make it to the big game but will fall short to whichever team is representing the NFC. That will most likely be the Eagles, Lions or 49ers.

Finally, Rodgers is listed at +6000 for league MVP. This is a dude who has won the award 4 times already. Wouldn’t 5 be a great way to bring his career to a conclusion? BTW, the Steelers futures odds have already come down from +4000 to +3500 in a month’s time. This is a sign that things are looking better than expected in the Steel City.
