Five NFL Teams That Should Consider Trading for Micah Parsons

It wouldn’t be an offseason in Dallas if at least one of the Cowboys’ stars didn’t hold out about his ‘inadequate’ contract. The past few seasons in NFL news have seen quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and the since-retired guard Zack Martin, among others, have their issues with their pay envelopes and owner/general manager Jerry Jones.
Now, it’s the turn of Micah Parsons, one of the elite defensive players in the NFL. Though listed as a defensive end, Parsons is everywhere. Causing havoc to opposing offenses by roaming all over the field, Parson was the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year and made the Pro Bowl (or whatever the Pro Bowl is now) each season.
Among his stats are 52½ sacks and nine forced fumbles during his four years in Dallas.
The final season of Parsons’ rookie contract is here, and the 26-year-old Parsons is going after an extension, reportedly in the area of $40 million per season
Parson isn’t technically holding out as of now, since he’s in camp but not participating in practices. However, last week he officially requested a trade (‘I no longer want to be here’), which Jones sees as nothing more than a ploy.
While the Cowboys remain minus-money favorites in the category of ‘Parsons 2025 Team,’ that hasn’t prevented NFL rumors and speculation. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are at 10-1 (+1000) on this ‘board,’ with the Los Angeles Chargers at 15-1 (+1500).
Right behind are the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals at 16-1 (+1600).
Whether this wager has any validity and moves the needle in NFL Super Bowl championship odds depends on how much you think one or both sides in this saga is/are posturing.
It is worth noting that even with Parsons’ last season, a horrendous defense (468 surrendered points) doomed the Cowboys in a 7-10 season.

As has been customary in the last number of seasons. There’s a stand-alone opening game hosted by the defending league champions. Thus, the Philadelphia Eagles have the honors this time around, with their NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys, in town Thursday, Sept. 4th.
Philly is a 6½-to-7-point NFL betting odds favorite in the game.

Any Final Thoughts?
Seeing the Dallas Cowboys as such a long shot on the championship board used to be a blasphemous idea. Ironically, they’ll be in Philadelphia as underdogs in NFL game odds while their NFC East rival Eagles lift the 2024 banner to begin the 2025 league season. Whether that provides some sort of boost behind the ‘Boys to make a legit run this time around remains to be seen.
