2025 Kansas State Football Preview and Betting Odds

The Wildcats are one of these teams who seem to be competitive just about every year, especially in the Big 12, which is plagued with mediocrity. Last season, Kansas State finished 9-4 overall and scored about 100 points more than their opponents.
K State is returning just 7 starters in all from last year’s squad. Offense will have 3 returning and defense will have 4. They lost 16 players to the portal but added 14, several of which are expected to start game 1.
Kansas State’s quarterback Avery Johnson is a returning starter for the 2025 season. He started all 12 games for the Wildcats in 2024, throwing for 2,354 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions while rushing for 514 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is a true dual threat.
K State will see many of the same teams they did last season. Sportsbetting.ag has their total win over/under at 8.5 games. I could see them landing on either side of that number but am leaning towards the under (-115). However, it should be noted that 247Sports is high on the Wildcats and Grok says that K State will finish 2-0. That’s a hard pill for me to swallow considering just 7 starters are coming back.
2025 Kansas State Schedule
August 23, 2025: Iowa State
August 30, 2025: North Dakota
September 6, 2025: Army
September 12, 2025: at Arizona
September 27, 2025: UCF
October 4, 2025: at Baylor
October 11, 2025: TCU
October 25, 2025: at Kansas
November 1, 2025: Texas Tech
November 15, 2025: at Oklahoma State
November 22, 2025: at Utah
November 29, 2025: Colorado
It’s a pretty rough schedule as far as Big 12 teams go. None of these games are “gimmes” with the exception of North Dakota. This should be a pretty easy win for the Wildcats.
Sportsbetting.ag has the Wildcats at +10,000 odds to win the national championship. You may as well light your Cuban cigar with that $100 bill because that ain’t happening.
I can see an 8-4 or 9-3 Kansas State team at the finish of the regular season.
