Cincinnati Bearcats Football Preview and Prediction for 2025

Last year’s edition of the Cincinnati Bearcats team went 3-6 in the Big 12 and 5-7 overall. They lost 5-straight to close out what started off looking like a prominent season. Their only impressive win was when they defeated #7 Arizona State 24-14. This was in fact their last win and it occurred on October 19th.
Cincy will have 7 returning starters on offense and 8 on defense. On offense, quarterback Brendan Sorsby, running back Corey Kiner& wide receiver Xzavier Henderson are back. Sorsby passed for 2,813 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, earning a passer rating of 136.4. He is also a good runner. He had over 400 yards on the ground and 9 scores.
Defense will be key this season. In the 2024 season, the Cincinnati Bearcats scored a total of 289 points across 12 games, averaging 24.1 points per game. But they allowed 360 points, averaging 30.0 points allowed per game. This resulted in a points differential of -71.
On defense, standout returners include defensive tackle Dontay Corleone, linebackers Jared Bartlett and Jack Dingle, and defensive backs Josh Minkins, Kye Stokes, and Jordan Young. These guys will need to step it up in order to give their offense some breathing room.

Right off the bat the Cats have to play an up-and-coming Nebraska team. If Cincinnati can pull off this upset, they will head into the rest of the season with a ton of confidence. They are underdogs by roughly 1 touchdown.
SportsBetting.ag sportsbook currently has the total win over/under sitting at 6.5 games. That’s a tough number to bet because Cincinnati will probably win about 6 or 7 of these games. Yes, they have a majority of last year’s starters coming back but I’m not sure they are talented enough to beat half of the teams on their schedule.
