Line Movement Report for College Football Week 2

We hope you had a successful and profitable week 1 of college football. The sportsbooks did pretty considering some of the upsets we saw. Betting football season brings the old cliche “it’s a marathon and not a sprint” cliche to mind. You have to have bet the proper amount based on your bankroll. Never wager more than 5% of that bankroll on one game. You may have a good feel for the season only for your bankroll to be wiped after one or two “weird” weeks.
In this article we wanted to share a list of notable line movements from when they were posted on Sunday till now (Wednesday). Line movements are not always indicative of how the public is betting. They can often occur after updated injury reports or sharp action at the sportsbook. For this reason, we are going to include the $ total for each bet as well so you can see if they correlate or not.
We are placing the information within this table to make it easier to read and sort.

College Football Week 2 Preview: Spotlight on the Biggest Matchups This Weekend
As the 2025 college football season heats up, Week 2 brings a mix of intriguing rivalries, ranked showdowns, and early tests for playoff hopefuls. After a thrilling Week 1 that saw upsets like Florida State’s victory over Alabama and Miami’s narrow win against Notre Dame, teams are looking to build momentum. While the slate isn’t overflowing with top-tier clashes, there are several standout games that could shake up the rankings and conference races. Here’s a preview of the weekend’s biggest matchups, focusing on the ones with the most national intrigue and implications.
- No. 15 Michigan at No. 18 Oklahoma (Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET, ABC)
This SEC showdown pits two storied programs in a battle that could define early conference standings. Michigan, fresh off a solid 34-17 win over New Mexico in Week 1, enters as the slight favorite with a revamped defense under new coordinator Chris Partridge. The Wolverines’ ground game, led by running back Donovan Edwards, will test Oklahoma’s front seven, which struggled to contain Penn State’s rushing attack last week. Oklahoma, ranked No. 18 after a gritty opener, brings explosive quarterback Jackson Arnold back from injury and looks to exploit Michigan’s secondary. The Sooners’ home-field advantage at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium could make this a high-scoring affair, but Michigan’s physicality might wear them down. Expect a close one—Oklahoma covers the spread in a 28-24 upset, boosting their SEC credentials. Why it matters: Both teams are eyeing the expanded 12-team playoff, and a loss here could linger in tiebreaker scenarios.
- No. 16 Iowa State vs. Iowa (Saturday, 12 p.m. ET, FOX)
The Cy-Hawk Trophy is on the line in this in-state rivalry that’s always packed with tension, regardless of rankings. Iowa State, sitting at No. 16 after a hard-fought Week 1 win, relies on quarterback Rocco Becht’s dual-threat ability to outpace Iowa’s stingy defense. The Cyclones’ 24-21 victory over Kansas State in Week 0 showed their resilience, but they’ll need to avoid turnovers against Iowa’s opportunistic secondary. Iowa, unranked but coming off a dominant performance against an FCS opponent, thrives on defense and special teams. Linebacker Jay Higgins could feast on Iowa State’s aggressive passing game. This matchup often comes down to field position and mistakes—the Hawkeyes win a low-scoring grinder 20-17, keeping their rivalry streak alive. Why it matters: It’s more than bragging rights; a win helps Iowa State solidify their Big 12 title hopes, while Iowa uses it to climb back into the polls.
- No. 6 Oregon vs. Oklahoma State (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, CBS/Paramount+)
Oregon’s high-powered offense faces a tough Big 12 foe in Oklahoma State, making this a potential trap game for the Ducks. No. 6 Oregon dismantled Montana State 59-13 in Week 1, with quarterback Dante Moore looking sharp in his debut (three TD passes). The Ducks’ speed on the edges will challenge Oklahoma State’s secondary, but running back Ollie Gordon II could control the clock if Oregon’s defense slips. The Cowboys, unranked but dangerous after a strong opener, bring a balanced attack led by quarterback Alan Bowman. Expect Oregon to pull away late in a 38-24 victory, but not without a fight—this game tests the Ducks’ depth early in the Big Ten schedule. Why it matters: Oregon is a playoff favorite, but Oklahoma State could expose any weaknesses before tougher Big Ten tests like Ohio State loom later.
- No. 11 Illinois at Duke (Saturday, 12 p.m. ET, ESPN)
A sneaky-good ACC-Big Ten clash, this game features two rising programs looking to make statements. No. 11 Illinois dominated Western Illinois 52-3 in Week 1, showcasing quarterback Luke Altmyer’s arm and a ferocious defense. The Illini’s road test against Duke will highlight their improved line play, but they can’t afford complacency. Duke, under new coach Manny Diaz, impressed in their opener and brings energy with transfer talent bolstering the roster. Quarterback Maalik Murphy could keep it close if Illinois’ secondary tires. Illinois escapes with a 31-21 win, but Duke covers as underdogs. Why it matters: Wins here propel both teams toward bowl eligibility and could factor into conference award races.
- No. 20 Ole Miss at Kentucky (Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network)
The Rebels travel to Lexington for an SEC grinder that could go either way. No. 20 Ole Miss cruised past Georgia State in Week 1, with quarterback Jaxson Dart continuing his efficient play. Their explosive offense will test Kentucky’s rebuilt defense, but the Wildcats’ home crowd and run game (led by Demie Sumo-Karngbaye) could force turnovers. Kentucky, after a solid opener, is desperate for an SEC win to build confidence under Mark Stoops. This feels like a 27-24 Ole Miss squeaker, but Kentucky’s physicality makes it the weekend’s most unpredictable game. Why it matters: Ole Miss needs this to stay in the SEC East hunt, while Kentucky uses it to prove they’re playoff contenders. Week 2 might not have the blockbuster top-10 clashes of Week 1, but these matchups deliver rivalries, ranked battles, and early-season drama. Tune in for what promises to be an exciting slate—college football’s unpredictability is what makes it great. Who are you rooting for?
