Is Taylor Swift Set to Headline the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show?

It’s no secret that as NFL and pro football fans across the globe anticipate the 60th edition of the Super Bowl (this one at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California), it has become the biggest spectacle on the sporting calendar each year.

Certainly a lot different than the game’s humble beginnings back in January of 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which wasn’t even sold out as the NFL’s Green Bay Packers whipped the AFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. 

…and not only has the game itself become a viewing (and betting) phenomenon, the halftime show, which started with a pair of ‘flying spacemen,’ marching bands and balloons, is now one where the largest musical stars host a lavish mini-concert after the second quarter. 

Those who’ve belted out a song or two (complete with all sorts of pyrotechnics) comprise a list too long to recite (it was Kendrick Lamar at the last game), and the question of who does the honors at the next game hasn’t been answered as of this mid-September writing. 

Just as there are NFL game odds, there’s a line (albeit quite varied) regarding who headlines the halftime show at the home of the San Francisco 49ers.

There are usual suspects, including Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, and Dua Lipa, among the ‘faves’ in this unique ‘prop’ wager. It’s Swift as the right-now choice in the market, and the reason is obvious.  

That’s because she has recently become engaged to a player whose teams are annually among the Super Bowl contenders. That’s, of course, Travis Kelce, tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs. 

It’s KC as a current 12-1 (+1200) to win the title as of this writing, that after being blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles inside the Superdome last season While the Chiefs did fail in their attempt to become the first team to win three consecutive titles in the Super Bowl era, they shouldn’t be counted out to get back there once again.

Quite a unique ‘daily double’ to have one half of the couple playing in the game and the other ‘taking requests’ at halftime.

KC lost its season opener in the NFL scores to the Los Angeles Chargers at Sao Paolo, Brazil. Now, the NFL schedule does not immediately get any easier, with a Super Bowl rematch against the Eagles in the second week. That’s the home opener at Arrowhead before a Sunday evening affair against the New York Giants at the Meadowlands. 

As the Chiefs attempt to extend their AFC West dominance to 10 seasons in a row, they are 7-4 (+175) favorites. There is more support than usual around the rest of the division, as the aforementioned Chargers are right behind at +185.
