Updates World Series Odds Start of Playoffs 2025

The MLB regular season came to a close this weekend and the playoff picture has been solidified. There are 12 teams int total that made the cut. Interestingly enough, 6 of those teams came from just two of the six divisions in the league. The AL East produced three births with the NY Yankees, Boston Redsox and the Toronto Bluejays all gaining entry. The NL Central produced three entries as well with the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds all making the post-season.
The other teams to enter the playoffs are the Cleveland Guardians, the Detroit Tigers, the Seattle Mariners, the Philadelphia Phillies, the San Diego Padres and the LA Dodgers. Of all 12 teams, two are currently “hot” with the Yankees posting a 9-1 record in their last ten games and the LA Dodgers going 8-2 that same span.
NO team was able to break the 100 wins mark this season. This number is usually viewed as the benchmark of a great team/ Triple digit wins will usually make you the World Series favorite. This season the team with the best overall record was the Milwaukee Brewers with a 97-65 record. However, the Phillies hold the distinction of being this season’s overall favorites to win it all.
The Cubs and Brewers are the “coldest” teams heading into the playoffs, posting a 4-6 record in their last 10 games. For much of the season the Brewers looked like the team to beat and looked as if they were a lock for a 100-win season, but the team cooled off and has had trouble stringing together long winning streaks the several weeks.
