Ravens Harbaugh Out – New Head Coach Odds

Ravens next head coach Vegas odds

The Ravens waited an extra day to let go of head coach John Harbaugh. This is the reason he was not included on our “Black Monday” article. Apparently, Raven’s owner Steve Bisciotti had seen enough. Even though Harbaugh had an impressive coaching record of 180-113, six division titles and a Super Bowl win, it was not enough to save him from the axe.

The Ravens choked away their post-season chances after a missed FG against the Steelers sealed their fate this past Sunday night. The loss put Pittsburgh into the post-season and eliminated the Ravens.

There has been rumbling for a few years now that 2-time MVP Lamar Jackson and Harbaugh aren’t exactly friendly. There is talk that Lamar stays up light at nights playing video games and the Ravens even start practices late because his inability to be at the facility early in the day. Apparently, Jackson also falls asleep during film sessions and meetings.

Harbaugh has treated Jackson with kid gloves and may have lost much of the locker room with these kinds of double standards. But team ownership had made it clear the Jackson is their guy and perhaps Harbaugh even felt that he was expendable if he were to clash with the quarterback.

Whatever the case may have been, it’s all academic now. Lamar Jackson is under a five-year, $260 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens, signed back in 2023. He still has two years under this massive contract, and the Ravens will be looking to bring in someone who can capitalize on his talent right away. Jackson is getting older and he is more injury prone than previous years. He managed to rush for just 349 yards and 2 TD’s this season (13 games) compared to 915 yards last year. See full stats
