First MLB Manager Fired in 2026 Betting Odds

Ardent MLB fans are already in mid-season form having watched or at least paid attention to the first 15 games of the season. Not even 10% of the season has been played and many of them already want blood. Some teams that were supposed to be really good this season have stumbled out of the blocks and fans are none too happy.

Despite the Yankees having a winning record, many of their fans are calling for the dismissal of Aaron Boone. It’s really not about this season for them. It’s a culmination of frustration lasting for years. The Yanks appeared in the World Series last season but this simple isn’t enough. Sportsbooks seem to agree, however. Boone is the odds-on favorite to be the first manager axed this year at +300 odds.

Cardinals skipper Oliver Marmol is also on the hot seat according to the betting odds. His team is .500 as of me writing this article. They were 78-84 last season and missed the playoffs and had to endure watching their hated rivals (Cubs) make it to the second round. Marmol is +350 to be the first manager fired.

Speaking of the Cubs, they are off to a bit of a slow start and are at the bottom of the division. However, manager Craig Counsell is way down on the list at +3300. His job seems pretty secure, at least for the foreseeable future.

This was supposed to be the Mets year after they made some major moves in the offseason. They started the season just fourth from the very top in regard to World Series champion odds (+1300) and were only behind the Dodgers, Yankees, and Mariners. They are currently sitting at 7-10 and seem to be playing uninspired baseball. Manager Carlos Mendoza is +400 odds to be the first manager to clear out his locker and head home.
