Bears Dolphins

The Chicago Bears face the Miami Dolphins in NFL Week 11 action on Thursday at Sun Life Stadium (8:20 pm ET, NFL Network)

NFL Odds at JustBet have the Dolphins as a 1.5-point, -122 moneyline favorite with the over/under total at 39.5.

This is just the fourth meeting between the teams since 1997. Miami is 2-1 straight up and against the point spread in the past three meetings. Miami is 7-3 SU in the all-time head-to-head series. Two of the past three meetings have gone over the total, but four of the past six have gone under.

The last time the teams met was Nov. 5, 2006, when the Dolphins blew out the Bears 31-13 and easily cashed as a 13-point road underdog.

Chicago faced NFC rival Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, winning 27-13 and covering as a 1-point home underdog. The score went under the total of 41.5.

Miami beat the Tennessee Titans 29-17 at home last Sunday. The Dolphins covered as a 1.5-point favorite and the score went over the total of 43.

The Dolphins will start third-string quarterback Tyler Thigpen after both Chad Pennington and Chad Henne suffered injuries against the Titans.

Chicago is 6-3 SU, 4-4-1 ATS and has won two straight games. Miami is 5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS.

The total has gone under in six of Chicago’s last seven games overall, and in six of Chicago’s last eight games on the road. The Bears are 4-1 SU in their last five games on the road.

Miami is 1-5 in its last six games at home, and 5-12 ATS in its last 17 games at home. The total has gone over in five of Miami’s last five games at home.

With both teams on a short week of rest and the Dolphins starting their third string QB, we are leaning toward the Under on this one. Miami will try very hard to establish their running game and avoid making Thigpen throw more than 20-25 passes. Expect to see “wildcat” offense and when teams run a lot the clock runs a lot too.
