Odds for Matt Ryan Rising for NFL MVP

October 6, 2016

Atlanta signal caller Matt Ryan has been arguably the best NFL quarterback through the season’s first four weeks. Ryan leads the league in passing yards with 1473 and his 11 touchdowns are tied for the NFL lead. To make things even better for Atlanta, the team has started the season 3-1 to lead the NFC South.

Ryan started the season with odds of 100 to 1 to win the MVP in the NFL on top sportsbooks, but after only four weeks of the season, he is now a co-favorite at 5 to 1 to win the MVP.

His next two games are vital to his potential MVP candidacy, as Atlanta will face the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks in two consecutive games on the road.

Listed with Ryan at 5 to 1 is Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The signal caller for the Steelers is ranked in the league’s top 10 for passer rating and passing yards, while he has 11 touchdown passes after four games.

Some concern was expected following a down week Big Ben had in Week 3 against Philadelphia, but last week against Kansas City, he threw for over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns.

One surprise on the board and a name to follow as the season unfolds is Minnesota quarterback Sam Bradford. It might come as a surprise mentioning MVP and Bradford together but Minnesota remains unbeaten after four weeks and Bradford has played very consistent and looks strong since joining the Vikings from the Philadelphia Eagles.
