superbowl 44 preview

The Super Bowl odds opened just minutes after the final play if the Saints vs. Vikings game. The line opened at Indy -4. The betting public jumped on it right away and now it is holding stable at Indy -5.5.  As of right now (Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at 3:50 PM) about 60% of the public is still wagering on the Colts.  Bodog has the highest line with Indy -6.  The totals or “over/unders” are holding right around 56 points.  This is one of the highest total numbers in Super Bowl history (44 years).

The money lines are Indy -210 and New Orleans +175. About 65% of the bettors using the money line are on the Colts.  76% of bettors are taking the Over as opposed to the under.  I mean why not? We all like to see huge scoring events for the biggest game of the year. Nobody, well almost nobody, wants to see a 9-6 final score.
