Three Strong Picks for NFL Week 9

November 6, 2015

Week 9 in the NFL has a number of good matchups for bettors to choose from. Here is how we see three of the games ending on Sunday.

Jacksonville at N.Y. Jets

Line: Jets -7, Total: 42.5

Jacksonville is coming off its bye week following its big win of 34-31 over Buffalo in London as 3.5-point dogs, the week before. The Jaguars visit a Jets team that has lost two consecutive games. The Jaguars however are winless this season on the road, but has a better signal caller in Blake Bortles than the Jets Geno Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick. The touchdown here is worth taking. Lean on Jacksonville.

Miami at Buffalo

Line: Buffalo -3, Total: 44

Miami looked strong in its first two games since a head coaching change was made, but ran into reality against the New England Patriots in Week 8. Miami is not as good as many thought they were in preseason, but Buffalo is not either. The Bills have in fact been more disappointing than the Dolphins as they have lost two straight and won just one of their four games at home.

Take Miami +3 in this one.

Tennessee vs. New Orleans

Line: New Orleans -8.5, Total: 48

New Orleans is 4-1-1 against the number in its past six games played, but in the one game they were chalk at home during the season Tampa Bay +9.5, they were outright losers.

Home is not the dominant place it once was for New Orleans of recent going 2-6-1 against the spread over its past 9 played in the Superdome.

Tennessee has lost six consecutive since its blowout win over the Bucs in Week 1. The coaching change this week will give the Titans something extra, at least for this game, which should be enough for them to cover.

Do not let the quarterback choice of Marcus Mariota or Zach Mettenberger change your pick, either one will help the Titans cover, but the Saints should take a “W” outright.

Tennessee +8.5 is our play.
