Sprint Cup Championship Odds on Intertops

Scott Morris | June 10, 2012

With NASCAR getting near the half way point of the regular season, we’ve seen enough racing to be able top have an opinion on who will win this year’s Sprint Cup Championship. If you’d like to put your money where your mouth is, you can go to Intertops and place a wager on your driver.

Jimmie Johnson is the favorite at 4.00. So a $1,000.00 bet could win you $4,000.00. Not too bad considering he’s won five or the last six and also won three of the last four weekends. That’s a risk worth taking at this point,

Last year’s champ Tony Stewart is at 7.50. As hot as he got during the ten race Chase last year, that’s another pretty good risk. A grand on Smoke could net you $7,500.00.

a guy who has been fast all year but has nothing to show for it is Jeff Gordon. If his luck ever turns around, he could be tough the rest of the way. Right now you can get him at 19.00, which pays $19,000.00 on a $1,000.00 bet.

Carl Edwards is another good be. At 13.00 he could pay off $13,000.00 on a $1,000.00 bet. Edwards tied for last season’s title but lost on a tie-breaker. He will be extra motivated once the Chase starts after last year.

Kyle Busch is possibly the most talented driver on the board. He is going to win a championship or two at some point. This could be the year. Right now you can get him at 10.00. So a $1,000.00 on Kyle could net you $10,000.00.

Now you may be tempted to put money on one of the long shots on the board, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Burton or Kurt Busch. Don’t waste your money on Busch. After being suspended this weekend, he’ll be all but mathematically out. Of the two remaining, I’d go with Burton. He’s proven he can win on this circuit. Montoya has not.
