College Football Week 14 Betting Results

December 4, 2016

Week 14 of the college football season is in the books as conference championships have been played and the wait is on for the announcement of the four teams that will play in the College Football Playoff.

Here is a quick review of the betting results for Week 14.

Favorites for the week were 12-4 straight up and 6-10 against the spread. The home team was 6-5 SU and ATS. The over/under point total was 5-11 towards the UNDER.

The biggest three underdogs that won outright were Georgia Southern +7.5 over Troy 28-24, Kansas State +3.5 over TCU 30-6 and Penn State +3.5 over Wisconsin 38-31.

The three biggest favorites to cover were Alabama -23.5 over Florida 54-16, Oklahoma -12 over Oklahoma State 38-20 and Western Kentucky -11.5 over Louisiana Tech 58-44.

Alabama was down early in its SEC Championship game after allowing its first touchdown in over 17 quarters during the first quarter.

However, Alabama quickly changed gears and routed the Florida Gators by 38 points and moved into the CFP with a record of 13-0 SU and 9-4 ATS.

Oklahoma defeated in-state rival Oklahoma State in the Bedlam rivalry and has now won 9 straight since losing 45-24 to Ohio State on September 17.

The ACC Championship Game saw Virginia Tech give favorite Clemson all it could take but the Tigers prevailed 42-35.

Clemson has won three straight and likely will face Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl in one of the two CFP playoffs games. Clemson is 3-1 SU but 1-3 ATS over their past 4 games played.

Penn State defeated Wisconsin in the Big 10 Championship Game 38-31, after falling behind during the second quarter 28-7. Wisconsin led 31-28 starting the fourth, but Penn State scored 10 unanswered points to win.

Penn State has won its past 9 games and is 8-0 ATS over its past eight.

On Friday night, Washington routed Colorado 41-10 to win the Pac-12 Championship and likely secure the fourth and final spot in the CFP.

Colorado prior to the game was 10-2 ATS, but from the start did not threaten to cover this spread. Washington is 3-0 SU since its only loss and is 2-0 ATS over its past 2 games after going 1-4 ATS in five games prior to that.
