First College Football Coach Fired Odds – Scott Frost Fired Odds

August 29, 2022
Will Scott Frost be Fired?

Its not that bettors are hoping that coaches get fired. But if it is going to happen anyway, may as well bet on it and make some money, right? In this article we will feature a list of the college football coaches most likely to be fired first in the 2022 calendar season. Also, we share with our readers the official odds that Nebraska head coach Scott Frost will be fired before the new year.

As you probably know, Nebraska was defeated by Northwestern in their game which was played in Dublin, Ireland this past weekend. Nebraska was pretty heavily favored with their revamped offense. In fact, they were as high as 14 point favorites at one time. But the game went off with them being favored by 11.5 points at various sportsbooks.

To lose that game straight up was a real blow for head coach Scott Frost who has had a bad time as head coach in his four seasons in Lincoln up to this point. His overall record is an abysmal 15-29. Last year Nebraska went 3-9, their worst record since they started playing football 132 years ago. But the front office gave Frost one more year. He fired a bunch of his assistants and coordinators and brought in the best people he could find, including Pitt offensive coordinator Mark Whipple.

Whipple took over play-calling duties from Frost and not even he could save the Cornhuskers from their meltdown. Nebraska QB Casey Thompson had an outstanding first half of football in this game but came out in the second half throwing inaccurately. He ended up throwing 2 INT’s in the game, the final one closing the door on a potential Nebraska comeback win.

The defense was also shoddy allowing Northwestern QB Ryan Hillinski to throw for 314 yards and two TD’s. RB Evan Hull rushed for 119 yards and a TD and Cam Porter added another 94 yards and a TD. The days of the “blackshirt defense” seem to be long gone.
