Key Injuries Heading into Week 4 of the 2023 NFL Season

Scott Morris | September 27, 2023
NFL injury report

Injuries have always been a part of the NFL and Week 3 of the 2023 regular season wasn’t any different. Key players, one after the other, were forced off the field altering the course of events for a lot of the teams. It’s sad for the fans to see their favorite players sitting out the games so early on in the season. Here is a roundup of the most notable injuries from the latest games of Week 3:

  •         Derek Carr:

The New Orleans Saints quarterback’s injury was one of the biggest news from Week 3. He had to leave the field early at the game against the Green Bay Packers due to an apparent shoulder injury. It seemed like a serious one at first but reports have now confirmed that that isn’t the case. He may have to sit out a few games but will, for sure, return to the field at some point in the season soon.

  •         Mike Williams:

The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver, Mike Williams was carted off the field after injuring his knee in the third quarter of the game against the Minnesota Vikings. It has been reported that he did in fact tear his ACL, a season-ending injury for the player. He will now, unfortunately, have to miss the rest of the 2023 season. Williams’ injury is easily one of the most difficult ones of the week for the football world.

  •         Jimmy Garoppolo:

The quarterback from Las Vegas Raiders, Jimmy Garoppolo did play the entire game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but got evaluated for a concussion after the game. Just before the end of the first half, he suffered quite a rough hit which had everyone speculating a knee injury. However, he continued to play so that was quickly ruled out. It still hasn’t been confirmed whether or not he does actually have a concussion but there is a chance that he won’t be back on the field in the next week to play against the Los Angeles Chargers.

  •         Gus Edwards:

The Baltimore Ravens have been struggling quite a lot and an injury to one of their key players will make things a lot more difficult for them. Running back Gus Edwards suffered from a concussion during the game against the Indianapolis Colts. He is currently in concussion protocol and it will be a huge loss for the Ravens if he has to miss a few upcoming games.

  •         De’Vondre Campbell:

The Green Bay Packers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was forced off the field early during the game against the New Orleans Saints due to an ankle injury and didn’t return for the rest of the game. There hasn’t been much of an update on how he is doing but it seems likely that he might have to sit out a few upcoming games.

As difficult as it is getting for the teams facing these injuries, the 2023 NFL season has only gotten more interesting as time passes by. Fans all over the world are eager to see what other ups and downs are in store for the future.

  •         Anthony Richardson QB, Indy:

The QB returned to practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for this Sunday. The Colts are facing off against the Rams who are coming off a ten point loss at Cincy on Monday Night. The point spread is currently a Pick Em’

  •          Bryce Young, QB, Carolina:

Young returned to practice Wednesday. Head Coach Frank Reich said: “We’ll see how he gets through whatever he can get through today, and then, obviously, we’ll put the report out later,” Reich said.”. The team is planning on starting Young on Sunday but he is still listed officially as questionable. More info
