If Vikings Cover Tonight it Will Set a Record

Scott Morris | November 27, 2023
13 favorites covering?

In the Super Bowl era  (1966-67 season ’til now) there have never been 13 favorites cover in any one week of NFL play. The record was tied last night at 12 favorites covering when the Ravens of Baltimore went to LA and soundly defeated the Chargers 20-10 (BALT -3.5).

SBA Odds has the Vikings currently sitting at -3 point favorites over the visiting Bears tonight for MNF, the last game of week 12. As of 5 hours before kickoff, 55% of tickets have been wagered on the Vikings while 67% of the money is on the Bears.

The last time 12 favorites covered the spread was in week 12 of 2017. We actually have a pick posted for tonight’s MNF game.

Sportsbooks took a little bit of a beating yesterday as can be expected anytime that many favorites cover. The public are going to have their weeks and sharp bettors are going to make their money.

Favorites are 90-79-10 against the spread this year at the time of publication. That is a 53.3% cover rate. Just for the record in regards to tonight’s matchup, home favorites are 53-49-6 (52%).
