Has a Heavy Underdog Ever Won the Heisman?
There is a list of underdog winners of the Heisman Trophy but usually the overall favorite wins the award. Marcel Reed is a rising star quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies, known for his dual-threat ability, poise under pressure, and leadership that has propelled the team to one of its best starts in decades.
At just 21 years old, he’s emerged as a Heisman Trophy contender in 2025, blending pinpoint passing with elusive running. Standing at 6’1″ (or 6’2″ per some sources) and 185 lbs, Reed plays with the maturity of a veteran, earning praise for his arm talent and decision-making.
He is a heavy underdog now (+50000) especially after losing his last outing and putting up pedestrian stats and an underwhelming performance.
