Cam Ward Over Under Passing Yards Prop

Cam Ward was the obvious #1 selection even well before the 2025 NFL draft. This past season, in the world of college football, he threw for 4,313 yards with 39 TDs and just 7 interceptions, leading Miami to a 10-3 record overall. He also rushed for 204 yards and 4 TD’s. Many believed he deserved the Heisman Trophy instead of Travis Hunter who got the award simply for being a good two-way player.
It was no surprise when the Tennessee Titans announced they would be drafting Ward #1 overall in this year’s NFL draft. He has all the fundamentals of a good NFL style QB. Many experts believe the sky is the limit.
So, why is his total passing yards over-under prop just 3,200 yards this season? That’s less than 200 yards per game. Basically, it comes down to uncertainty as to when the coaching staff in Tennessee will decide to start him. QB Will Levi is still on the roster and may get some starts before you see them plugging Cam Ward into the lineup. It’s often looked at as a bad practice to throw a rookie into the lineup from day one. Media and fans will often refer to this as “throwing him to the wolves” or “baptism by fire”.
You may see Levi get some starts before they go with the kid. A great deal of this remains to be unseen. If it becomes clear that they plan to start Ward in week 1, you will likely see this over-under increase.
Do I think that betting this prop now is a good idea? I am definitely leaning towards the over 3,200 yards. Chances are they will want to get this kid on the field ASAP. They will want to please the fans and see what the young QB can do. If Ward starts by week 3 or 4, I can see this number going over the total. One thing is for sure; this number will only go up as we get closer to week 1. It will not go down.
