Almost 40 million people will play a bracket in this year’s March Madness tournament according to the American Gambling Association. Even the old lady at the church feels the lure of plunking down a little money for a chance to win a lot. The madness is real.
There are bracket contests available everywhere it seems. But many of them only pay off if you pick a perfect bracket. The odds of picking a perfect March Madness bracket are astronomically low, ranging from 1 in 9.2 quintillion for random guesses to about 1 in 120 billion with expert knowledge.
