Final Four Public and Sharp Action Final Report
The games begin in a few hours so now is the time to take a final look at how the general public is betting. These figures are gathers from multiple online sportsbooks and combined.
Sometimes it is helpful to see which way the public (and sharp bettors) are betting to help shape your own betting selections. Some people only play sharp picks while others only go against the betting public. These two methods have been traditional very sound.
Let’s take a look at the betting totals for the game spread, moneyline and game totals for the two Final Four NCAA basketball games.
Game 1 – Illinois vs UConn
Illinois -1.5 (47% of tickets/52% of money)
UConn +1.5 (53% of tickets/48% of money)
Illinois -130 (47% of tickets/62% of money)
UConn +110 (53% of tickets/38% of money)
Over 139.5 (84% of tickets/78% of money)
Under 139.5 (16% of tickets/22% of money)
There is no clear Againt-the-Public play on the spread or moneyline but the UNDER 139.5 appears to be a solid ATP play.
Sharp action reported on Illinois -1.5
Game 2 – Michigan vs Arizona
Michigan -1.5 (41% of tickets/49% of money)
Arizona +1.5 (59% of tickets/51% of money)
Michigan -112 (47% of tickets/54% of money)
Arizona -108 (53% of tickets/46% of money)
Over 157.5 (72% of tickets/69% of money)
Under 157.7 (28% of tickets/71% of money)
Again, the same situation appears to be unfolding for game 2 as did for game 1. The moneyline and spread are close, but the total reflects that the general betting public is heavily favoring the Over.
Sharp action reported on Michigan -1.5
