DraftKings Partners with Kambi to Offer Sports Betting

A month ago, we reported how FanDuel partnered with Paddy Power Sportsbook (in a partial buyout) in order to offer users a sports betting option.

Now, the other major U.S. facing fantasy sports provider, DraftKings, has secured a gaming partner to help power their push into the sports betting world. That partner is known as Kambi, aka Kambi Group. The company has multiple betting licenses worldwide, including in the UK, Malta and Romania.

There is a lot of “red-tape” left to cut but the overall goal is to be able to offer fantasy sports and the option to bet on the games for clients whose states allow the activity. The companies would like to have the system fully operational by the start of the american football season which kicks off the last week in August.

You may be unfamiliar with Kambi but they are the force that drives the following brands:

  • Rush Street Interactive
  • 888
  • Kindred Group
  • Napoleon Games
  • Televisa

We are seeing companies in the U.S partner with foreign based sports betting entities because they offer the experience and expertise in this field. Established sports betting companies located within the USA, MGM for example, have their own internal sports betting division already running in Las Vegas and should have little problem adding sports betting to their non Vegas properties.

These are exciting times for sports fans who happen to enjoy a wager on the game. For states that have legal sports betting, there will be apps and websites which offer their product. As of right now, there are just ‘brick and mortar’ establishments. Currently, offshore online sportsbooks remain the best value and offer the most convenience.
